Biography

I’m a writer with a Ph.D. in Asian Cultures and Languages from the University of Texas at Austin and a background in education and public service. I previously taught history and global studies at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and I currently work as a technical writer for the American Pet Cancer Foundation, where I create clear, user-focused documentation. My published work includes translation, an encyclopedia biographical entry, and a book review. I’m also a U.S. Army veteran and a former Veterans Service Representative with the Veterans Benefits Administration.

In my spare time, I enjoy woodworking, gardening, swimming, camping, hiking, reading, and watching sci-fi shows. I am a Texas Master Naturalist and Master Gardener and enjoy volunteering and learning about the natural world. I am based in the Austin metro area.

Mission Statement

My mission is to make complex information clear, usable, and accessible. As a technical writer, I create user-centered documentation that supports understanding, consistency, and practical use. I also draw on learning experience design (LXD) principles to strengthen clarity, structure, and usability. With a background in higher education and public service, I bring a calm, structured approach to writing, revision, and stakeholder communication.
